The Buckeyes will blow out the Boilermakers on Saturday.
Why?
Because that's what the Eleven Warriors staff thinks. And the Eleven Warriors staff is never wrong.
As Ohio State nears the start of its battle with Purdue, the Eleven Warriors staff expects another dominant performance from the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe.
Score Predictions
Andy Anders: Ohio State 56, Purdue 3 — Normally, I try to offer some analysis, but I don’t see the Boilermakers offering any resistance in this one. Even Ohio State’s backups score a couple of times, and November rolls on with another victory.
George Eisner: Ohio State 42, Purdue 0 — As bad as the Boilermakers might be, they still prove tricky to project given their ability to score 49 points at Illinois one week and get shut out at home against Oregon in the very next game. Given that OSU more resembles the Ducks than the Illini relative to overall talent, and the Buckeyes are coming off their best game so far, they really should earn their second donut of the season here.
Jack Emerson: Ohio State 49, Purdue 7 — These aren't the Spoilermakers of old.
Jordan Raines: Ohio State 52, Purdue 3 — The Bucks come out fast and never look back.
Johnny Ginter: Ohio State 42, Purdue 10 — A slow start prevents this from being as huge a blowout as many expect, but the Buckeyes still win comfortably as Henderson and Judkins run wild.
Matt Gutridge: Ohio State 45, Purdue 7 — The only time I've been in Ohio Stadium when the Buckeyes played Purdue was in 1988. That's the last time Ohio State lost to the Boilermakers in Columbus. I will be at the Skull Session to watch my daughter and her high school band play with TBDBITL, but I will head home to watch the game to guarantee Ryan Day's team comes away with the victory.
Garrick Hodge: Ohio State 55, Purdue 7 — Purdue stinks. That's my "expert analysis."
Dan Hope: Ohio State 41, Purdue 7 — Purdue is worse this year than it was when Ohio State beat it by this score in West Lafayette last year, but I’m running it back with the same score because I think we’re more likely to see the Buckeyes’ B-game than their A-game this week after last week’s emotional road win at Penn State.
Kyle Jones: Ohio State 49, Purdue 3 — The Purdue defense is very, very, very bad. No team on Ohio State’s schedule is ranked lower in total defense, and only six FBS squads surrender more yards per play. Will Howard and the OSU offense eat early and often in this one, and Fox fails to set another Big Noon ratings record as many fans of both teams change the channel in the second half.
Chris Lauderback: Ohio State 42, Purdue 6 — The Buckeyes go deep into the bench in this one, but not before Will Howard throws for three touchdowns, including two to Jeremiah Smith.
Ramzy Nasrallah: Ohio State 52, Purdue 0 — The visitors rank 111th in total offense and 121st in total defense. If the Buckeyes play fewer than 75 guys in this game, it should count as a loss.
Josh Poloha: Ohio State 49, Purdue 3 — Purdue isn't good. The Buckeyes are really good. That's the perfect recipe for a blowout. Stay healthy and get the backups in for some much-needed playing time and in-game experience, please.
Jason Priestas: Ohio State 44, Purdue 3 — Every now and then you have to worry about a wily Purdue team that can and does shock a better Ohio State team. This is not one of those seasons. Look for the Buckeyes to continue to tune the line, defense, and whatever else they want to work on.
Chase Brown: Ohio State 56, Purdue 6 — What Jason said.
Will Ohio State cover?
Ohio State enters Saturday as a 38-point favorite over Purdue. Ten of our 14 staff members to submit scores think the Buckeyes will cover their almost six-touchdown spread against Purdue. Meanwhile, Matt Gutridge picked a push, and Johnny Ginter, Dan Hope and Chris Lauderback picked the Boilermakers to cover.
