Following Ohio State's 13-10 loss to Michigan, a nasty brawl broke out after Michigan players attempted to plant the M flag at midfield.

It appeared Jack Sawyer and some other Buckeyes, as they were wrapping up singing Carmen Ohio, saw what Michigan players were doing and ran to midfield.

Sawyer ripped the flag pole away from the player and eventually ripped off the M flag and tossed it as players began fighting all around.

Police deployed pepper spray to deescalate the situation which still lingered on for many minutes before both teams finally left the field.

Ryan Day wasn't even sure what had happened.

In the postgame presser, Day had a little more to say.

“I don’t know all the details of it, but I know that those guys are looking to put a flag on our field and our guys weren’t gonna let that happen,” Day said. “I’ll find out exactly what happened. But this is our field. Certainly, we’re embarrassed with the fact that we lost the game, but there are some prideful guys on the team that weren’t gonna let that happen.”

Meanwhile, on the Michigan side, quarterback Davis Warren felt the flag plant was justfied. "We’re going to win in your house and we’re gonna plant the flag. You should’ve done something about it.
