Ohio State is hosting a playoff game for the first time in school history.

According to an Ohio State football spokesman, tickets for the Buckeyes' 8 p.m. matchup with Tennessee on Dec. 21 will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Thursday and start at $100. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Season ticket holders can request their normal ticket and parking locations via their online account until Monday at noon. Season ticket holders interested in purchasing additional tickets will have the opportunity to do so via a presale beginning Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Students can request tickets via a random drawing in their online ticket account until Monday at noon.

An allotment of 3,500 tickets has been reserved for Tennessee to sell to its fans.

Ohio State is the No. 8 seed in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff, while Tennessee is the No. 9 seed. The winner will play Oregon in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

Following a 13-10 loss to Michigan, Ryan Day said Sunday that he's looking forward to the Buckeyes earning a chance for a rebound win against Tennessee.

"There's been twists and turns, there's been ups and downs, but here we are," Day said of Ohio State's 2024 season. "When you think about the opportunity that our team has to go do something like this, this would be an unbelievable accomplishment to go on a run here and win the whole thing. You're four games away. It's real. It's on the table. As much as last week hurt — and it hurt — here we are now. All the focus has got to be on Tennessee and winning this first one."
