The all-scarlet uniforms are back.
When Ohio State hosts Tennessee in the College Football Playoff on Saturday, the Buckeyes will wear all-scarlet uniforms. Consensus All-American safety Caleb Downs and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jeremiah Smith helped the program show off the alternates in a social media post on Monday.

This weekend will mark the second time the Buckeyes have worn the all-scarlet uniforms. The other occurrence was when Ohio State defeated Penn State 33-24 on Oct. 30, 2021, in Columbus. There is one difference between the current scarlet threads and the ones the program wore three years ago: Ohio State will wear a College Football Playoff patch underneath its Big Ten logo.

Ohio State will wear its all-scarlet uniforms as it attempts to "Scarlet the Shoe" against Tennessee. The Buckeyes have had a Scarlet Out in each of the past four seasons, including the aforementioned Penn State game, the 2022 Iowa game, the 2023 Penn State game and the 2024 Nebraska game.
Ohio State and Tennessee will kick off at 8 p.m. on Saturday and will be broadcast on ABC. The game will be one of three College Football Playoff matchups on Saturday, following SMU at Penn State (Noon, TNT) and Clemson at Texas (4 p.m., TNT).
