Brandon Inniss is dropping a digit from his jersey.

Inniss announced Thursday on his X account that he is switching from No. 11 to No. 1 as he enters his junior season at Ohio State.

The third-year wide receiver’s switch to No. 1 is a return to the number he previously wore at American Heritage High School during his days as a Florida prep star. He’ll share the number at Ohio State in 2025 with cornerback Davison Igbinosun, who has worn No. 1 since he arrived at OSU in 2023.

Quinshon Judkins wore No. 1 for Ohio State’s offense in 2024. Other recent former Buckeyes who wore No. 1 on offense include Justin Fields, Johnnie Dixon, Braxton Miller (for one year after switching from quarterback to wide receiver) and Daniel “Boom” Herron.

Inniss is projected to be Ohio State’s starting slot receiver in 2025, replacing Emeka Egbuka in the starting lineup, after serving as Ohio State’s No. 4 receiver behind Egbuka, Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate last season.
