As Big Ten Network worked to construct its set on the south side of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, Urban Meyer and his 2016 Ohio State Buckeyes trotted out for practice Tuesday morning amid thick humidity and sunny skies.

The team worked out as a full group for the second time in camp, wearing shoulder pads and helmets with shorts.

Ohio State allowed the media to view warmups and practice through the first four periods. Here are some quick notes that we saw Tuesday morning, even though the team spent the majority of the time doing drills on the other side of the field away from reporters.

NOTES:

  • Unlike the first practice on Sunday, Ohio State did its "difference" session after stretching which is focused on players shooting their hands at the chest of the man across from them. The drill is something former co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Chris Ash started when he arrived in Columbus.
  • Urban Meyer also began practice with a circle drill on the south side of the field. Media could not see who went against whom, but the team's Twitter account showed freshmen Demario McCall and Rodjay Burns doing battle:
  • The first-team offensive line remained the same as it was Sunday. From left to right: Jamarco Jones, Michael Jordan, Pat Elflein, Billy Price, Isaiah Prince.
  • Junior college transfer Malcolm Pridgeon worked at tackle with the second-team offensive line. Demetrius Knox worked at left guard, next to Brady Taylor, Evan Lisle and Branden Bowen.
  • In the backfield action portion of practice, quarterback J.T. Barrett worked first with Curtis Samuel and Mike Weber on jet sweep action to the right, then left.
  • Redshirt freshman Joe Burrow followed Barrett in the same drill with Dontre Wilson and Antonio Williams.
  • Samuel and Wilson started drills at wide receiver with Zach Smith's group, but then shifted to running back during backfield action.
  • Each wide receiver worked on one-handed catches over their shoulder during the individual portion of practice.
  • The first-team defensive line remained the same during pursuit drills: Sam Hubbard, Michael Hill, Tracy Sprinkle, Tyquan Lewis
  • Behind those guys on the second-team were Darius Slade, Davon Hamilton, Dre'Mont Jones, Jalyn Holmes
  • The two-deep remained the same at linebacker as well: Dante Booker, Raekwon McMillan and Chris Worley took reps in front of Craig Fada, Joe Burger and Jerome Baker
  • Gareon Conley, Malik Hooker, Damon Webb and Marshon Lattimore were the first-team secondary, although Denzel Ward once again alternated snaps with the latter as he did Sunday. The rest of the second-team defensive backs were Damon Arnette, Erick Smith and Cam Burrows. Just like Sunday.
  • Nick Bosa continues to look strong and fluent despite wearing a heavy knee brace. He and Robert Landers looked to work a little bit with the second-team defensive line.
  • Former coach Earle Bruce attended practice Tuesday morning. He sat in a golf cart on the side of the field.
