College football is about change. Teams are either trying very hard to make it happen, to upset the status quo and become something greater than they are, or they're trying to stay on top and prevent said change from occurring.
In other words, things can't stay the same forever. And that's fine. I grew up in the 90's and long ago accepted that Ohio State wasn't going to beat Michigan every single year until the day I died. I mean, I wanted them to, but I knew that wasn't the most likely outcome.
But what's really, really (insert approximately five thousand "reallys" here) frustrating is that Ohio State lost to Michigan yesterday in exactly the same way that they did 365 days before that. After all the work and bluster and coaching hires and ink spilled about the defense improving and the offense evolving... none of it mattered. The one time Ohio State fans really wanted change, they didn't get it. A year wasted.
Welcome to the new status quo. It took approximately two decades for Michigan to flip the script, but they've done it. Now Ohio State is going to have to wait another year to see if they can flip it back.
THE TEAM
Yeah, this is going to shock you but Ohio State players and coaches were not in a posting mood after the game.
THE ALUMNI
Im going to show up to the facility everyday until they put me on the staff.

In the span of 2 years, Jim Harbaugh went from not being able to beat Ohio State to flat-out owning Ohio State.

Back to back dominant wins, this one even without their best player.
Not a good day to be Ryan Day.
If this holds, Ryan Day will have won 90% of his games and every Ohio State fan will want him fired.

The 1990s are back. Tennessee is good again. Tulane is good. Everybody is playing a new Pokemon game. And talented Ohio State squads are pooping their pants against Michigan. The rivalry has shifted. It's 1996 again.
