From the drop of the puck, the lady Bucks unleashed a ferocious offensive assault on their hosts. OSU outshot PSU 17-3 in the opening period and the final damage was 35-9. For the most part Penn State goalie Celine Whitlinger weathered the storm, but she couldn’t hold the Buckeyes off forever.
Sophomore Haley Studler finally solved Whitlinger in the early minutes of the third period. The tally was the first of the Grosse Isle, Manitoba native’s collegiate career. A few minutes later Studler struck again. That goal would turn out to be the game winner.
The Nittany Lions got on the board at the 12:10 mark. Hannah Bramm took full advantage of a...well, a two man advantage. However, that was all the offense Penn State could muster in this game. Sophomore defenseman Alexa Ranahan iced the Buckeye win with an empty net goal.

Stacy Danczak made her third consecutive start in goal for OSU, stopping eight shots. This was the senior netminder's eighth start of the season and the seventh in which she allowed two or fewer goals.
Penn State and Ohio State are right back at it tomorrow afternoon, playing a 2pm matinee.
