Football won’t be the only Ohio State sports team to play a game at Wrigley Field this year.
The Big Ten announced Thursday that Ohio State’s men’s and women’s hockey teams will both play at Wrigley Field in January as part of a four-game series of outdoor college hockey games at the home of the Chicago Cubs.
The men’s hockey team will play Michigan in a rivalry game at Wrigley on Jan. 3 while the defending champion women’s hockey team will face Wisconsin in a rematch of the last two national championship games on Jan. 4. Wrigley will also host men’s games between Penn State and Notre Dame on Jan. 3 and between Wisconsin and Michigan State on Jan. 4.

The Jan. 4 game will be the second outdoor game for Ohio State women’s hockey, who previously played Minnesota in an outdoor game in 2020. The Ohio State men have previously played in four outdoor games, most recently at Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium on Feb. 18, 2023, when the Buckeyes beat Michigan 4-2.
