Time have changed since 2000, so it's no surprise college classes are as well. USA Today's #TalkingTech stopped by Ohio State's Columbus campus, and what they found may shock you:

[Journalism professor Nicole] Kraft takes attendance via Twitter — where students are assigned to tweet story ideas and more from class.

"They will use social media whether we like it or not," says Kraft. "I don't want to police them."

During the massive snow storms this winter, Ohio State has already been closed for two days, but thanks to technology "we kept going," says Kraft. "My students still did the work."

Twitter allowed students to keep working despite classes being cancelled? George Orwell's corpse just did an ollie-kick flip in its grave.

Also, props to Brett Amadon who gave me my new catch-phrase:

When Pandora doesn't work, I don't work.
