Ameryst Alston's career at Ohio State is over, but she won't be hanging up her basketball shoes just yet.
The New York Liberty selected the senior Ohio State guard with the 24th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 WNBA Draft on Thursday night.

Alston, originally hailing from Canton, Ohio, averaged 18 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game during the 2015-16 season. The women's team finished 26-8 and No. 9 in the country.
The New York Liberty, which lists NBA legend Isaiah Thomas as its president, advanced to the WNBA's Eastern Conference Finals in 2015 before falling to the tournament's eventual runner-up, the Indiana Fever.
The Liberty will tip off its 2016 season with a preseason game Sunday, May 1, against the Chicago Sky.
