Tori McCoy and Kiara Lewis have decided to leave Ohio State, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon.
McCoy and Lewis — both five-star freshmen — seemed to have promising Buckeye careers ahead of them after stellar freshman seasons.
McCoy started 10 games this season when Stephanie Mavunga was out with an injury including every Big Ten and NCAA Tournament game. She was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and led the team in blocks. Lewis started the final 15 games, and averaging 6.7 points and 1.8 assists.
“Kiara and Tori are both great student-athletes and I wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors,” said Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff.
The Buckeyes still return four of their top five scorers including their leading scorer and two-time Big Ten Player of the Year Kelsey Mitchell.
