Ohio State women’s basketball continues to rise in the AP Top 25.

The Buckeyes are up to No. 8 in this week’s AP poll after extending their winning streak to seven games over the past four days with road wins over Illinois on Thursday and Purdue on Sunday.

After trailing Illinois by 11 points at halftime, the Buckeyes rallied back, outscoring the Illini 45-26 in the second half to earn a 67-59 win in Champaign on Thursday.

Ohio State led for nearly the entire game at Purdue on Sunday. The Buckeyes never led by more than nine points, allowing the Boilermakers to keep it close enough to have a prayer on a long heave at the buzzer, but Ohio State ultimately escaped West Lafayette with a 71-68 victory.

Ohio State is now tied 17-3 on the season and tied for the Big Ten lead with No. 3 Iowa and No. 10 Indiana. All three teams have an 8-1 record in conference play.

Having already earned a win over Iowa eight days ago when the Buckeyes defeated the Hawkeyes in a 100-92 overtime thriller, Ohio State now faces its only regular-season matchup with Indiana when it hosts the Hoosiers at the Schottenstein Center this upcoming Sunday. First, Ohio State will look to extend its winning streak to eight games when it hosts Wisconsin at Value City Arena on Thursday.

Thursday’s game against Wisconsin is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off on Big Ten Network, while Sunday’s game against Indiana is set for a noon start on FS1.
