Ohio State’s winning streak has reached a dozen.
The second-ranked Buckeyes earned their 12th straight win on Wednesday, defeating Nebraska 80-47 at the Schottenstein Center to improve to 13-1 in Big Ten play and 22-3 overall.
It’s the first time Ohio State has won 12 straight Big Ten games since 2017, when the Buckeyes won their final 11 games of the regular season as well as their first game in the Big Ten Tournament.

While the Cornhuskers had just upset the previous No. 2 team, Iowa, in their most recent game, they never came close to challenging for another upset on Wednesday.
Both teams got off to a slow start offensively, each scoring only five points in the game’s first six minutes, but the Buckeyes finished the first quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 14-7 lead.

Another 8-0 run early in the second quarter, in which McMahon and Sheldon scored two baskets each, extended Ohio State’s lead to 22-9. The Buckeyes would lead by at least nine points for the remainder of the first half, ultimately taking a 33-19 lead into halftime. The Buckeyes held Nebraska to just 7-of-24 shooting and forced 15 turnovers in the first two quarters.
Ohio State started the second half on a 13-0 run to extend its lead to 27 points, forcing six more turnovers before Nebraska scored its first points of the third quarter. The Buckeyes would finish the third quarter with a 28-point advantage of 62-34.
Ohio State led by at least 30 points for nearly the entire fourth quarter, finishing the contest with a 33-point win.
Jacy Sheldon led the Buckeyes with 23 points, while Cotie McMahon added 20 points. Rikki Harris scored 11 points for the home team off the bench. Nebraska finished the game with 30 turnovers and zero double-digit scorers.
Ohio State will now get a week off from game action before it goes for its 13th straight victory next Thursday, Feb. 22, at Penn State. Tip-off at Penn State’s Rec Hall is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
