Caleb Downs scores Ohio State’s first punt return touchdown since 2014.
Ohio State's three-time national champion is off to a good start in his quest for a fourth NCAA individual wrestling title.
Senior Logan Stieber beat Jordan Laster of Princeton in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Wrestling Championships today by a score of 18-1, with his seventh technical fall of the season 33 seconds into the second period (3:33 total).
Stieber, who our resident wrestling expert Curt Heinrichs cannot confirm is not actually a cyborg, will face No. 16 seed Mike Morales of West Virginia tonight around 8 p.m. The Buckeye mauler needs four more wins to earn his fourth consecutive title.
There will be no rematch of the Big Ten final, with Iowa's Josh Dziewa suffering an upset loss in the first round to Kevin Jack of N.C. State.
The top four seeds at 141 pounds won their first-round matches. Stieber has victories over No. 2 Mitchell Port of Edinboro and No. 4 Devin Carter of Virginia Tech. He has not wrestled No. 3 Lavion Mayes of Missouri this year.
Curt will wrap up all the Thursday action later.
