Is Logan Stieber a yeti? I think he might be a yeti.
The Ohio State senior wasted no time in dispatching Nebraska's Anthony Abidin, the No. 9 seed, 16-1 by technical fall to book a spot in the NCAA wrestling championship semifinals at 141 pounds. It was Stieber's eighth tech fall of the season.
It was another dominating performance by Stieber, who led 11-0 after one period and 15-1 entering the third. All of Stieber's wins in the tournament so far have been by bonus points, meaning a pin or tech fall.
Stieber will face unseeded Kevin Jack from North Carolina State in the semifinals. Jack upset No. 4 Devin Carter, an NCAA finalist last year from Virginia Tech, in the 141 quarterfinals. Carter was the third seeded wrestler (No. 5, 12 and 4) to fall to Jack this tournament, so he won't be intimidated by Stieber.
Curt Heinrichs will wrap up the Friday action from the Buckeye wrestlers for you later.
