Ohio State's highly-regarded Class of 2018 wrestling recruits just got a little bigger. Josh Ramirez, the top uncommitted wrestler in the state of Iowa, chose the Buckeyes over Nebraska, announcing his commitment via Twitter.

With nine commitments already including seven ranked in InterMat's Top 100, it seemed head coach Tom Ryan was closing the books on the class and looking ahead to the Class of 2019. Ramirez, a three-time Louisiana high school state champion, visited Columbus over the Thanksgiving Day weekend, and decided he wanted in on what Ryan and company have to offer.
"When I got to campus I really like it there.” Ramirez told IAwrestle, “With everything they had to offer, I saw myself being great there.” IAwrestle ranked Ramirez as the top remaining wrestler in the Hawkeye State, and their No. 10 wrestler in the state overall.

InterMat rates Ramirez as the No. 17 wrestler in the country at 160 pounds; he could wrestle at 165 or 174. The senior moved to Iowa from Louisiana ahead of this school year to face stronger competition, and is favored to bring home a fourth state title come January.
Ramirez originally committed to wrestle for Illinois, but over the summer decided to reopen his recruitment. He visited Nebraska and the Ohio State prior to declaring for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State commit Jadex Mattox (Grove City Central Crossing) is InterMat's No. 2 wrestler in the country at 160, though he is expected to wrestle 157 for the Buckeyes.
