John Glenn, the legendary Marine pilot fighter, Ohio senator, and the first American to orbit the Earth, passed away at 95-years-old in December.
The federal government interred his body to its final resting place Thursday among fellow patriots at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
The ceremony included a flyover, a graveside service, and taps. Family and invited guests, including astronauts and dignitaries befitting such a remarkable career, were in attendance.
Back in Ohio, flags flew at half-mast in honor of the fallen Ohioan.
