I did not forget to schedule today's Skull Session. Days without incident: 1.

DID YOU KNOW URBAN HAS A PSYCH DEGREE? Urban Meyer got paid yesterday (such are the perks of running roughshod over your competitors), but he had "no desire" to become the highest-paid coach in the country.

From Bruce Feldman of FoxSports.com:

Despite transforming Ohio State into the nation's top football program, Meyer had no desire to become the highest-paid college football coach in the country, a source told FOX Sports. Given the fact he has already won three national titles and is still only 50, it's not a stretch to think he could've commanded a salary that rivals that of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari and is well into the $7 million range. (Alabama's Nick Saban reportedly made $6.95 million last season.)

Wily move by Meyer. Why take the throne as the sport's highest-paid coach? That's just another kind of target on your back.

While Urban is worth every penny (probably more), and I'm ecstatic Urban is locked-up until January 2021... they're running out of reasons why these players can't be paid. (Just my take. Thank you for reading.)

PATIENT 0 UNDECIDED. On Sunday night, Shams Charania of RealGM.com reported D'Angelo Russell would declare for the NBA draft in the "next couple days." Russell cryptically denied it on Twitter a few minutes later.

Yesterday, Russell elaborated on the denial to our favorite Youngstownian, Tim Shoemaker:

"It’s funny because nobody knows what I’m doing, I don’t know what I’m doing. If I knew, I would have made a decision by now," Russell said. "I’m really just taking it slow, going at my family’s pace and not anybody else’s pace. The deadline is coming up, I know we’ll know before that, but like I said, I’m just moving at my family’s pace.”

[...]

“This weekend, I’m sitting down with my family. I honestly haven’t even discussed anything with my dad, with my brothers, anything," Russell said. "We’re starting from scratch and, like I said, I’m taking this weekend to myself and my family and we’re going through that.”

[...]

"I didn’t come into college trying to be a one-and-done type guy trying to get in and get out," Russell said. "I was a guy that came in, unpacked my bags and was looking to get comfortable the best way I can. It’s great moving at my own pace.”

Russell and his family certainly move and their own pace if they have yet to even discuss his decision, but It's good to see the pressure doesn't get to him off the court.

One thing is clear: OSU has a better chance of retaining Silk than anybody thought.

CARDALE OFF TO FORMAL? Is a 21st century plot of Cinderella playing out right before our eyes?

Hope she knows Cardale is expected at the stadium early on Saturday morning.

WILL ALLEN: A PROFESSIONAL'S PROFESSIONAL. Remember Will Allen, the safety? That dude is still balling in the NFL.

From WeLoveSatanGoBigSatan.com:

The 12th year safety, who was an unrestricted free agent, signed a one-year deal to stay with the Steelers, remaining exactly where he wanted to be.

“I am just thankful that the Lord has provided and that I am here and I can help the team win,” said Allen. “I appreciate everything. I appreciate playing football. I appreciate playing for the Steelers. Everything about it is really good.”

I just assume any non-QB who plays in the NFL for over a decade is made out of titanium. Have you seen a football player the morning after a game? They move like arthritis-ridden octogenarians. I couldn't imagine enduring that over 12 years, but Will Allen did.

Props to Will Allen.

NEW BUCKEYE AHOY? Ohio State could pick up another brick out of SEC country today in the form of 2016 four-star CB/Tennessean Nygel Edmonds. He holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Wisconsin, and more.

He announces at 6 p.m. tonight, but here are his junior highlights to hold you over until then:

LOOKS GOOD TO ME.
