Former Ohio State and current Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley has filed a lawsuit against the woman who accused him of rape at a downtown Cleveland hotel in 2017, TMZ reported Thursday morning.
The accusations made it to a Cleveland grand jury, which declined to indict Conley. The woman has since filed a civil suit.
Conley countered with his own, alleging the allegations cost him millions of dollars and "a contract with Nike." Conley says the woman lied about their encounter after he rejected her sexual advances.
The Oakland Raiders selected Conley with the 24th overall pick after many experts projected him to go much higher in the first round.
According to the report, Conley is asking for "a fortune" in damages.
