I watched Kyle Snyder get pinned by a Russian yesterday and now I'm questioning everything. At least I have a bye week to digest all of this.

Word of the Day: Alterity.
AT LEAST SOMEONE BELIEVES! Folks are hopping of the Buckeye bandwagon with the quickness after Saturday's debacle but fear not, the Local Team has a new backer: Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm.
Brohm used a substantial portion of his time on the Big Ten Coaches Teleconference to give the Buckeyes a rousing and inspiring pep talk, which is always appreciated.
Transcribed by my good pal Colin Hass-Hill, who you should all follow on Twitter dot com:
“I actually think they’re a very talented football team, and I actually think they have very good coaches that have been there been there and done that. Sometimes you have a game, a lot of times throughout the course of the year, you’re going to have at least one game where it just doesn’t happen.”
...
“They probably need to shore up giving up some big plays, but I think they have the ability to do that. I could foresee them running the table from here on out. I know that’s hard for people to say now because you suffer a loss. They did the same thing last year and they bounced back and they played very well. Really, it’s about leaders on the field stepping forward, the coaches doing their part. I know they can do it. I wouldn’t want to play them again.”
"I know they can do it" absolutely slays me. It sounds like something a team mom says about her son's mediocre rec baseball team before a big game she knows damn well they're about to get run ruled.
The audio version of those responses is even hilarious because it sounds like Brohm is a little hesitant, as if he isn't quite sure he should even be saying what he's saying, but he just goes right ahead and says it all anyway.
Brohm seems like a good dude, and from the sound of it, he genuinely thinks Ohio State was the better and more talented team even though his team won by 29, they just weren't in a position to win the game.
BUCKEYES STILL HAVE NFL FUTURES. It's been a rough stretch for the Buckeyes on the field, but that hasn't really impacted the draft stock of Ohio State's potential first rounders.
Nick Bosa, Dre'Mont Jones and Dwayne Haskins are all still firmly first-round players, with Bosa still at No. 1 overall, according to our friends at Pro Football Focus:
1. NICK BOSA, OHIO STATE – EDGE DEFENDER
Bosa logged 113 defensive snaps this season before it was over, accumulating a 92.6 overall grade (was first in the nation when he qualified) and 11 pressures on just 69 pass-rushes.
...
15. DRE’MONT JONES, OHIO STATE – INTERIOR DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
Week 3 Draft Board rank: 17th (+2)
Jones’ pick-6 against TCU is one for the highlight reel, yet he’s consistently made plays this year. His 23 total QB pressures rank tied for seventh among interior defensive linemen.
...
23. DWAYNE HASKINS, OHIO STATE – QUARTERBACK
Week 3 Draft Board rank: 22nd (-1)
Haskins currently holds the nation’s ninth-highest adjusted completion percentage at 78.5%. Of his 91 incompletions, 17 have been dropped, three have been thrown away, four were thrown as he was being hit and another was batted at the line of scrimmage.
At the rate things are going, pretty soon half the league is going to be Ohio State or Clemson defensive linemen.
DEVIER POSEY, CFL HERO. DeVier Posey was last year's Grey Cup MVP with seven catches for 175 yards and a touchdown, and it looks like he's still balling north of the border.
Posey had a hat trick of touchdowns in the third quarter against the Edmonton Eskimos (my local team – bet y'all didn't know I had Canadian blood in me) on Friday, racking up 113 yards on five catches and was named the league's top performer.

As much as I love seeing former Buckeyes blossom in the NFL, there's something fantastic about watching a dude like Posey just own the league like that.
Someone needs to tell our friends to the north hear Braxton Miller isn't on an active roster. I'd tune in every game.
WOMEN'S BASKETBUCKS SHORTHANDED. The Ohio State women's hoops team added five grad transfers as reinforcements after a large talent exodus left the lineup empty, but one of them isn't going to see the court this year after suffering a knee injury in practice.
Ashanti Abshaw, a transfer guard from Cleveland State, will miss the entire 2018 season after tearing her ACL.
From an Ohio State release:
“I’m extremely devastated for Ashanti”, said head coach Kevin McGuff. “She is a great kid and worked really hard to get acclimated to our system and was going to make an impact. She will undergo surgery soon and we will support her throughout this process to make sure she gets back to 100 percent.”
Abshaw transferred to Ohio State this summer after playing at Cleveland State the last four seasons. She was a three-time All-Horizon League honoree and has averaged more than 17 points per game in her career. Abshaw completed her degree in communications management from Cleveland State last spring and is working on her master’s degree in workforce development here at Ohio State.
I covered this team for the past three years, watching every game, attending practices and keeping up with recruiting and I can honestly tell you I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this squad this year.
But it includes the top European freshman in the class, a 6-3 guard who can dunk, and a new starting point guard with a highlight tape that looks like Steve Nash. I'm gonna tune in.
SPORTSCENTER WITH SVP JUST GOT BETTER. I think the only sports show I watch on television purposely – besides the 11W Report to see Dan Hope's beautiful face – is SVP's Sports Center, and I absolutely will not miss tomorrow's show.
Traded notes with @theTylerTrent after the Purdue game. He said it would fulfill a dream if we could work together. I said....so, lets work together. Tyler will be on with me tomorrow night.

SVP + Tyler Trent? Sign me up.
I know it's early in the week, but I'm hoping Tyler gets some input on SVP's winners. After he called Purdue outright last week and got the win by 29 points, I would blinding tail any pick he made with full confidence.
