Former Ohio State defensive tackle Malik Barrow is reuniting with his former defensive coordinator at Ohio State.
Barrow, who was medically disqualified from playing for Ohio State in 2018 after suffered the third ACL tear of his career, announced Sunday that he is transferring to Rutgers, which will be his second transfer in less than a year after he spent this season at UCF.

Barrow is now one of nine players who have already committed to play for Rutgers since Schiano – who coached Barrow in each of his two seasons at Ohio State – officially became the Scarlet Knights' new head coach less than two weeks ago.
In his lone season at UCF, Barrow appeared in just three games and recorded just two tackles. Buried deep in the Scarlet Knights' defensive line rotation, Barrow opted to enter the transfer portal again in October.
At Rutgers, though, Barrow could provide a needed infusion of talent – if the one-time four-star recruit can return to his pre-injury form – for a Scarlet Knights team that won just three total games in the last two seasons.
“I’m gonna be able to bring a guy who’s a leader, somebody who’s older, who knows what he’s doing. A guy who’s athletic, and a guy who’s ready to compete,” Barrow told Eleven Warriors in an interview earlier this year before his transfer to UCF. “I learned that nothing’s going to come easy and I’m going to have to work hard regardless of the situation, regardless of what injuries I had in the past, and that’s something that I have to keep in my heart to make sure that I accomplish. And I’m going to keep working hard.”
Barrow, who graduated from Ohio State this summer, has one remaining season of collegiate eligibility.
