Curses aren't real! If a bad team plays a good team (in most sports, really), the good team will typically beat the bad team with very little drama, and that is exactly what happened on Saturday against Purdue.
There are mitigating factors to all of this, of course. The Buckeyes were down to their third? fourth? second-ish? string running back, and lost a key defensive player during the game. But still, this week on the Dubcast George and I were extremely impressed by Ohio State's willingness to adapt, change up the running game in interesting ways, and continue to field an efficient defense. It wasn't all roses (special teams coaching continues to be... weird), but overall a great afternoon of football.
Plus, some shellackings elsewhere in college football, Georgia loses A Dude, and Gameday is coming back to Columbus! Which: eh!
- The running game is back, buoyed by, uh, Dallan Hayden and Xavier Johnson? And Devin Brown???
- Purdue missed three field goals lol
- Special teams need to get a lot more special against a tough Penn State squad
