In the forums a while back, someone asked the hypothetical "would you rather Ohio State and Michigan both lose or both win their respective bowl games?"
And, unsurprisingly, the consensus settled on "both lose" with "Ohio State wins and Michigan loses" being the runner up, despite it not being one of the options. The inverse of that has now happened, and should Michigan pull off a win against Washington in the National Championship, we'll have officially crossed the threshold into worst case scenario.
The Cotton Bowl was extremely bad, but George and I are angry about it for specific reasons, mostly centered around (pun intended) the offensive line and Ryan Day's inability to adjust to an admittedly tough situation offensively. It wasted an amazing defensive performance and it sucked out loud!
Also: there's a very good chance Michigan wins an outright national championship, something they haven't done since literally the Truman administration. So we pick that apart, too. Fun times at the Dubcast compound!
- Carson Hinzman's podcast interview wasn't what anybody wanted, but it might've been prescient
- Jack Sawyer and the defense put on an absolute clinic, but it's going to be totally forgotten in the aftermath of this game
- A LOT is riding on who comes back next season
- Ask Us Anything (which you can do by sending us questions to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com) gives some holiday queries to ponder, and when the best age is to have The Talk with your kids (earlier than you think!)
- What's extremely annoying about Michigan winning these games is that in almost every facet they're just "sort of good", with the exception of probably the best defensive line in college football in the last decade
- We are praying that Michael Penix, Jr. pulls a rabbit out of his hat next week
And that'll do it! Thanks to One Medical for sponsoring the Dubcast, thanks to you for listening and checking out our Dry Goods store, and we'll see you next time!
