I will gladly accept all of your barbs, your slings, your arrows. Yours truly was indeed the only Eleven Warriors staffer to predict that Ohio State would lose to Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff, and yours truly was obviously wrong wrong wrong, wrong as all hell.
The nice thing being wrong about a Buckeye win is that the Buckeyes still won. By a lot.
Anyway, that's what the Eleven Dubcast is about this week! George and I break down the parts of the game we liked, and because there weren't any parts of the game we didn't like, we talk about a bunch of other stuff, like: Boy, Tennessee fans liked talking a lot of shit! What the hell is up with Kirk Herbstreit? First round games are fun but also went straight chalk! Ohio State men's basketball won an incredible game and no one is talking about it! Eggnog tastes great! And so on!
- To start with, Johnny (me) is a big dumb idiot moron and all of your derision is justified. Tee off at your pleasure.
- Props to Tennessee for the effort, but there was more than a whiff of desperation coming from their fanbase and team leading up to the start of the game.
- Immediate Ohio State dominance from the jump; Ryan Day and company had a new gameplan that showed they learned from their mistakes against Michigan and it paid dividends immediately.
- The Buckeye defense, particularly the defensive line, had the Vols in hell all night.
- Somewhat close at halftime, but this was Angry Ryan Day coaching (who likely saved his job, if there was any doubt), and the second half was pretty much exactly the same as the first.
- Ask Us Anything, which you can do at dubcast@elevenwarriors.com, wants to know our takes on eggnog and what is the oldest thing in our possession.
- Herbie, what the hell are you doing? Being a company man we can forgive, but this recent chicanery goes a lot deeper than that.
- Diebler won a crazy, amazing game against a top five opponent and we immediately stopped talking about it because football came on. Such is life.
