Tragedy hit the Ohio State community earlier this week when Reagan Tokes, a student, was fatally shot and abandoned in a nearby park.
Grove City police arrested a suspect, 29-year-old Brian Golsby, and charged him with aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, rape and aggravated robbery, according to 10TV in Columbus.
Tokes was a psychology major at Ohio State who was scheduled to graduate in May.
In an attempt to honor Reagan, her family started a GoFundMe with the hopes of raising $50,000 for a scholarship in her name. You can visit the fundraising page here if you wish to donate.
This fund is so we no long have to ask why her and make something good, pure and loving; just like Reagan. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to create a scholarship in her honor. This will give other hard working high school students a chance to attend the college of their dreams just like Reagan did. We will also be creating a commemorative plaque that will be placed at the Anthony Wayne Tennis Courts for all the energy and love she put into her teammates and the game. We would like to have this fund accomplished by her funeral on February 16th, 2017.
As of Sunday afternoon, nearly $26,000 had been raised — just a little over half of the goal.
