Ohio State graduated its largest class in history on Sunday, with near 12,000 students receiving collegiate diplomas.
The class includes the late Reagan Tokes, who was murdered in February after her shift at Bodega Bar in the Short North. She stood just three months from realizing her life's dream: Graduating from Ohio State with a degree in psychology.
In past years, the university included the names of deceased graduating students in the ceremonial program. This year, it gave families the option to come on stage and accept the posthumous degree.
Up to 21 members of the Tokes family were expected to attend the event.
Tokes' mother told NBC4 Columbus it's "a great honor."
