Six candidates are set on Saturday to vie for drum and assistant drum major positions in the Best Damn Band in the Land, and tryouts are open to the public.
They will be held, rain or shine, at Lincoln Tower Park (1790 Cannon Drive), south of Ohio Stadium and Buckeye Grove.
Each candidate will perform the ramp entrance, a twirling routine, and five aerial tosses. Members of the OSU Athletic Band and 2017 Marching Band will provide musical accompaniment.
A panel of band staff members and previous drum majors will judge the participants. The winners will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
The university notes seating is limited, and guests are welcome to bring a folding chair and/or blanket. Paid parking is available in lots around Ohio Stadium.
