Kansas Blows it All Up
You never want to be searching for a new football coach in March, but that’s the situation at Kansas after Les Miles – who won just three games in two seasons with the Jayhawks – and the university “mutually agreed to part ways” on Monday. That decision came after LSU released records that revealed accusations of Miles behaving inappropriately with female student workers when he coached the Tigers.
The man who hired Miles, athletic director Jeff Long, was canned two days later.
Nebraska Tries to Duck Oklahoma, Gets Roasted
Last August, Scott Frost said Nebraska wanted to play “no matter who it is or where it is.” Apparently, that doesn’t apply when the season isn’t at risk of being canceled.
Stadium’s Brett McMurphy reported Friday that Nebraska was looking to get out of its Sept. 18 trip to Oklahoma – despite this being the 50th anniversary of the 1971 Nebraska/Oklahoma “Game of the Century” – and was contacting MAC schools and Old Dominion as potential replacements for a home game. After a day of ridicule on Twitter, athletic director Bill Moos said Nebraska wanted to play an eighth home game instead of traveling to Oklahoma for financial reasons, but that the Cornhuskers would proceed forward with playing the Sooners.

NCAA Shortening Football OT (Again)
For the second time in three years, the NCAA is set to tweak college football's overtime format.
A recommendation from the NCAA Football Rules Committee would force teams to go for two in the second overtime, with the two teams then alternating two-point attempts starting in the third overtime and continuing until a winner is determined.
For the past two years, teams have been required to begin attempting two-point conversions after touchdowns in the third overtime, with the two-point play shootout coming in the fifth overtime.
