This week's How Buckeye Are You focused on the two basketball teams at Ohio State. As we move towards tournament time, you would think that students would be more knowledgeable than ever on the subject. And you would be wrong.
Apparently, three years after graduating, Aaron Craft is still the only Buckeye that matters. Oh well. Maybe students will take the time to learn some current players one day.
Ohio State women's basketball head coach Kevin McGuff has coached the team to a top-15 ranking, got a No. 1 seed in the Big Ten tournament, and has one of the best basketball players the school has ever seen in Kelsey Mitchell – but students still don't know who he is.
In their defense, they don't know many of the players' names either.
Also, as a fun fact about this year's team, for those who don't commit statistics to memory: Jae'Sean Tate is the team's leading scorer. Not Marc Loving.
Good luck to both of our basketball teams this week and beyond in whatever competitions they find themselves in. Let's just hope it's not a competition about which student body knows their team the best.
