Underwood flipped his commitment from LSU to Michigan on Thursday, with the NIL figure offered rumored to be as high as $10.5 million over four years, according to On3. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Underwood is considered the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class per 247Sports' composite rankings.
Michigan desperately needed an answer at quarterback for next season, and now it has found it, with Underwood likely to start for the Wolverines as a true freshman. The Wolverines also have Jadyn Davis, a promising signal-caller who was ranked as the No. 9 quarterback in the 2024 class, but he has not played a snap this season despite Michigan’s quarterback struggles.
Underwood’s flip will only add more fuel to the already heated Michigan vs. Ohio State rivalry, with the Buckeyes bringing in their own five-star quarterback in the 2025 cycle, Tavien St. Clair.
