It appears the first items of business for new Michigan athletic director Jim Hackett is to get some god damn professionals in the building. First, Michigan hired a PR firm to help the athletic department with its dismal image. Now, it's hiring a recruiting firm (which is a bad idea in its own right) to spearhead its search for Brady Hoke's replacement.

From Jim Lynch of The Detroit News:

The Korn Ferry firm, which has an office in Chicago, will take on helping the university sort through its options in replacing the recently fired Brady Hoke.

"Our process is moving along and many potential candidates have reached out and expressed an interest in the position," said Dave Ablauf, U-M's athletic department spokesman, in an email Friday. "Korn Ferry is screening applicants, narrowing that list and identifying the best possible candidates for our institution."
