If you publish opinions on the internet... you will face pain and degradation. This is true for everyone, but women on the internet — especially those dispensing sports #takes — face extra vitriol.
And nobody hands out anonymous abuse to women better than #FSUTwitter, easily the worst subgroup of Tweeters in America. (Although, look out, ISIS recruiters, because #FSUTwitter is hot on those heels for the world's No. 1 spot.)
Last night, it looks like ESPN's Michell Beadle hit her breaking point:
If FSU, in any form, is a part of your handle or bio, I thank you for making it easier for me to separate the filth. #WishItWorkedInRealLife

Oh honey, I'm talking about morons who continue to troll. Months after I stopped caring. And they always have 'fsu' https://t.co/IJiLgHDcKv

Does she spend her days being disgusting to strangers on Twitter? I bet not. So let's use our brains. #ComeOnNow https://t.co/066biN0rSF

#FSUTwitter's reaction of "OMG BEADLE JUST SLANDERED ALL FSU FANS AND ALUMS," is off-base, but we're talking about a group incapable of thought above primal, knee-jerk reactions.
