The PAC-12 is moving forward with its conference-only schedule, the Mercury New reports.

The conference's plan features a 10-game conference schedule beginning in mid-September, two built-in bye weeks to allow flexibility for games that cannot be played as scheduled and three possible dates for a conference championship game.

The full plan and schedule are expected to be officially announced no later than the end of next week.

Season-opening games will be scheduled for Sept. 19, which would have been week three of the college football season with the conference championship played either the weekend of Dec. 4-5, as originally planned, or Dec. 11-12 or Dec. 18-19, if rescheduled games force a later championship game.

The PAC-12 was the second conference to announce it was moving to a conference-only slate, just one day after the Big Ten announced its plans for a conference-only schedule. The Big Ten has yet to make its plans or schedule public.
