Cignettis new contract runs thru Nov. 30, 2032.
When Indiana hired him in December 2023, Cignetti signed a six-year, $27 million contract. He made the move to Bloomington after two years at James Madison, in which he led the Dukes to a 19-4 record. Both of those seasons were James Madison's first in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
This season, Cignetti has led Indiana to its first 10-win season in school history as the Hoosiers make a push for the College Football Playoff. IU has scored at least 40 points seven times and won all 10 of its games so far this season, including nine wins by 14 or more points.
Indiana is idle this week but will travel to Columbus next weekend for a top-five showdown with No. 2 Ohio State. The outcome of the game could determine who reaches the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 7.
