After it was originally reported that Kevin Anderson was fired as the athletic director for the University of Maryland, the school issued a statement through a spokesman saying now such changes have been made.

According to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, Kevin Anderson is still currently employed as the athletic director at this time, though the university said that there could be an update on the situation next week.
A Maryland spokesman now tells me athletic director Kevin Anderson is NOT on leave and remains in his role... https://t.co/UxpGzyrm64

Under Anderson’s leadership, the football program has both hired and fired Randy Edsall as football coach, and replaced him with current coach D.J. Durkin.
Anderson was also responsible for ushering the Terrapins into the Big Ten in the summer of 2014.
Regardless as to what happens to Anderson, the move would come as a surprise, as teams under him have won a Big Ten-best 25 total championships since the start of the 2014 season.
Though when we get a final determination and if Anderson is indeed let go, according to Bobby Blanco of MASN Sports, has been on administrative leave since October 1 for trying to seek out the USC athletic director job.
If the determination to fire Anderson is further made, former Ohio State and Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams is an early pick for the next athletic director, and may be the director-in-waiting at this point.
As for this, I was told there was miscommunication and that a host introduced Gary Williams as AD and not "associate AD." Which is weird. https://t.co/ehnMZ6cSSk
