The first 18 draft slots are set. The Bengals have the #5 pick after beating the Texans and Steelers in the last few weeks. The Browns pick is still up in the air with them making the playoffs and all that.
- #1-Urban being offered the job with Trevor Lawrence is pretty crazy and I guess I am a Tlaw fan now. Urban winning a superbowl would put him in best coach ever discussions.
- #2 Jets-Justin Fields-Any foolishness that Fields wasnt #2 is over after the Sugar Bowl. He is an elite prospect who goes #1 in many other drafts over the past few years. Not the best roster in place but that happens to top picks. NY has a lot of picks and cap space and Fields being the face of a turnaround in NY would be a big storyline.
- #3-Dolphins-Jamarr Chase WR LSU-One of the best receiver prospects in a long time. This is a unique pick as the 10-6 Dolphins get a top 3 pick because of a trade with the Texans. Bengals fans will want to pay attention here because this allows Sewell to drop. The Dolphins OTs were drafted in the first and second round last year and the Dolphins may decide its better to draft an elite receiver than make last years second round pick redundant.
- #4-Falcons-Zach Wilson QB BYU-This completes the Bengals dream scenario allowing Sewell to fall to #5. Matt Ryan is 36 and the Falcons may not have a better chance to get a new franchise QB. Drafting an elite talent and letting him sit behind Ryan isnt sexy but long term is good for the franchise.
- #5-Bengals-Penei Sewell-All the worrying and this is still very likely. With 3 QBs going in the top 4 and the Dolphins having invested so much in OT last year this is very likely. Penei Sewell starts at LT from day 1, Jonah Williams fills in RT, Spain and Hopkins are solid C/RG and the Bengals grab a new LG in free agency. OL overhaul complete.
- #8-Panthers-Patrick Surtain CB Bama-The first Bama player is Surtain who may be a better prospect than player at this point
- #9-Broncos-Mac Jones-We will be seeing if Mac Jones is truly a top 10 level player in a week. He has nearly 0 mobility while the other top QBs are great athletes.
- #20-Bears-Jaylen Waddle WR Bama-Rumors he may return for the championship game would be bad bad news for OSUs secondary. Waddle is ridiculous averaging 22 ypc this year before his injury. Went for nearly 200 on UGA. Having Waddle and Smith is dangerous.
- #22-Colts-Devonta Smith-He may win the heisman but isnt as good of a prospect as player. Still he is an elite receiver and Shaun Wade will have his hands full.
- #23-Browns-Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB ND-The Browns have athletcism problems at LB and get the drafts best in Jeremiah. Twitchy LB who can fill the run and cover in passing situations. \
- #25-Tampa-Najee Harris RB Bama-I think this is too early but Harris is likely the #1 back in the draft. His size, vision, and ability to break tackles are all incredible. He may lack desired twitchiness from a back which I think drops him from this spot.
- #27-Jets-Chris Olave-This would just be great to see. Jets use their second first rounder to address their terrible receiving corps and the best available is Fields #1 receiver Olave. Speed and route running are elite traits for Olave while his smaller size pushes him down the boards. Fields, Olave, and LT Mehki Becton are the building blocks for the Jets offense going forward.
