While Ohio State fans can enjoy the fact that our beloved Buckeyes are back in the 2021 CFP Championship game, there are plenty of contenders on the outside looking in. Many teams such as Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Cincinnatti, or even Florida thought they had the edge on Ohio State, and should have been in the CFP instead.
My opinion of the CFP is that the idea is great! I don't like the way it's being ran though. Five teams have taken 22 of the 28 bids in the last seven years of the playoff. I feel for the G5 schools who can't make it in because they're G5. I feel for the teams that are looked over even though they're the better team. I know for a fact that this would increase the chance to make the playoff shoot up for every team.
Being a devoted Ohio State fan, and a firm believer in the spirit of competition and college football, I've made the hypothetical stage of what an eight team playoff bracket would look like according to a hypothetical set of requirements and rules laid down by the CFP. (I've also done this to humor all OSU fans, as we know Ohio State would most-likely demolish these other teams. I've also allowed some of these teams in to shut up them up, hypothetically, because hearing, "We're better than Ohio State and we should get the 4 seed!!!!", in real life got annoying after a while.) So why not do it?! Let's look at a hypothetical playing field based off of this year's teams...
Requirements and Rules:
- Five reserved spots in the bracket for Power 5 conference champions.
- Three at-large bids for other Power 5, independent, or Group of 5 schools that have proven themselves.
- The CFP committee gets to rank the conference champion spots and at-large bids in the order of who they think are the strongest teams.
- The current criteria used to rank teams will be used in this hypothetical playoff.
In this hypothetical playoff there are: the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship game.
Hypothetical Rankings:
- Alabama- SEC Champ
- Clemson- ACC Champ
- Ohio State- BIG 10 Champ
- Oklahoma- BIG 12 Champ
- Texas A&M- SEC third (at-large)
- Florida-SEC runner-up (at-large)
- Cincinnati- AAC Champ (at-large)
- Oregon- Pac-12 Champ
Quarterfinals: 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4,5; All quarterfinals are played at higher seed homes.
Semifinals: 1v5, 2v3; Would be played at rotating bowls all depending on the year as normal.
Championship:1v3; Would be played at rotating stadiums depending on year as normal.

I personally would love to have this eight team format over the four team. More teams, more competition, more undisputed champion status than ever before, and LESS COMPLAINING THAN EVER BEFORE!!! There has been support by the NCAA to start the eight team format. So why not do it?? There's lots to gain for both sides.
I love this format, I want to here all your thoughts?
