In an effort to save money (and the newspaper itself?), the Blade is going to use wire reports for OSU and UM coverage, as well as other sports. Having grown up in Toledo I have always thought the Blade has one of the toughest jobs of any paper covering sports, as the city is not loyal to any one team. You've got Browns and Lions, Tigers and Indians, UM and OSU, Univ Toledo and BGSU, and they're all spread out. It's got to be a real budget killer. 

I'm old enough to have fond memories of the daily newspapers and this makes me sad. Hypocritically, I no longer subscribe to a newspaper and get all my news from the internet and cable. So yeah, there's that.
