The Oklahoma president Joe Harroz specifically named Fox's 12 Noon (11 AM Central Time) start times as a constant irritant for the Sooners. He realized the B12 was "last in line" when it came time for picking games that week in each time slot. Oklahoma as well as Texas had an overabundance of 11 AM start times it it drove the natives crazy.
Which leads me to Ohio State and our association with FOX sports. When Urban came to Ohio State, one of the first things he said was he wanted more night games because the energy was just different from other times of the day. 11W members cheered this and couldn't wait for the games with the sun down to begin. So what's changed? The Ohio State/Michigan is a traditional noon time start so we'll set that aside, but we're starting to play too many games in this noon time slot with Oregon coming up next. The game will feature two top 10 teams and has every box checked for a prime time 8 PM start. There are a lot of reasons to schedule games against big opponents. One of the big reasons is to promote your team to a national TV audience and I think the B1G is making a huge mistake by playing too many of their biggest games at 12 Noon.
