Interesting interview with a pessimistic Jack Swarbrick over the future of football. Swarbrick thinks things will collapse in the mid 30's when the TV contracts run out. He envisions a system where some schools will maintain the traditional connection of athletics and academics while at other schools, the connection will be in name only.
A few bullet points:
* He says the SEC and B1G are separating themselves from the other conferences and schools are desperate to get out of their current deals. There may even be schools given the boot from their current conference and replaced with teams which would provide more revenue.
* The SEC blew up any chance for a 12 team playoff anytime soon with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma.
* The lightning adaption of NIL and the transfer portal has college football at the crossroads
