Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF have reached an agreement with the AAC to leave the conference in July, 2023 and join the Big 12. The deal is for $18 million to be paid over 14 years per team.
If Oklahoma and Texas don't reach a financial agreement with the Big 12 to leave early for the SEC (scheduled for 2025), there will be a two year period where the Big 12 will have 14 teams, before returning to 12 in 2025.
BYU is mentioned to have a $500,000 buyout with their conference to allow their other sports programs (football plays as an independent) to join the Big 12 at the same time as the other three.
