A lot of people draw 2011 Ohio State comparisons to this team but that Ohio State team was talented and dragged down by the scandal and distractions surrounding the team. There's no Braxton Miller in this Michigan QB room (not unless you think Jadyn Davis has the potential to be that good one day which I don't).
The '99 Buckeyes are a much better comparison. 6-6 season, cupboards were completely bare at QB (as soon as Cooper made the switch from Moherman to Bellisari in week 2 and Bellisari started playing like shit and losing games for us every week you knew we were in trouble there), some returning talent at RB (Michael Wiley, Donovan Edwards, Kalel Mullings), and an above average defense with talent that was being asked to do too much throughout the season due to the offense's ineptitude. The only real notable difference is Michigan being under a first-year head coach who is clearly in over his head and not a guy on the last legs of his coaching career who was already planning his retirement. Thoughts?
