Who's Afraid of Penn State?

There certainly seems to a consensus that Penn State is the team that's up next to win a championship.  I understand the narrative, the last two titles were won by Big Ten traditional powers with something to prove, so they're next in line, and yes they did have some key pieces returning.  Overall, though, I just don't get it.

First, the added pressure of championship or bust isn't going to help anything.  When has Franklin excelled under pressure?  I still think this year's PSU was overrated.  They lost to the two best teams they played prior to the playoff, their best wins were Illinois and @USC I guess, blah.  They got the luckiest playoff path imaginable and lost as soon as they went against a team that was close to their equal.

And then there's the roster.  They lost their best offensive player and best defensive player.  I like their running backs that stayed, but is anyone afraid of Allar?  And they still haven't addressed their lack of playmakers on offense. They're excited to have 3 OL back, but that line was mediocre when it mattered.

I'm fine with all of the hype being on Penn State, the more the better.  I'll be surprised if they do any better than 10-2, get into the playoff as a lower seed, and lose early when they have to face a tougher draw than this year.
