August 30, 2025 will mark Lee Corso’s final appearance as a regular member of ESPN’s College GameDay crew. The assumption is that college GameDay edition will be held prior to the Texas @ Ohio State season opener, which would return Corso to the site of his original mascot headgear prediction when he correctly chose #3 Ohio State to beat #4 Penn State on October 5, 1996. Since then, he’s made 430 predictions and has a 286-144 record (66.5%), which by itself is pretty impressive since most of those games involved ranked teams, as the Longhorns and Buckeyes will undoubtedly be on 8/30.
Of the 69 teams Corso has donned the headgear during his time on College GameDay, no one has been chosen more than the Buckeyes. He has a record of 30-15 when choosing Ohio State, which is right on his average, but he’s only 10-8 (55.5%) when he’s picked Texas.
My question for you: assuming College GameDay is at Ohio State on August 30, who do you predict Corso will pick: Ohio State, which would bookend the Buckeyes as both his first and last choices, or Texas?
