In the era of NIL, this topic has varying opinions on how Ohio State should allocate the funding it receives. Currently, I think we have around 36 or so sports that are supported, which is near the top of all FBS universities.

Option #1...Keep everything the way it is and have the football team as the main priority and hope that the men's basketball team is good every 5 or so years and have moderate success in hockey, tennis, soccer etc, while supporting fencing, golf, volleyball, etc.

Option #2...Cut back on the number of sports to 16 or so. Spend the majority of NIL on football and basketball and try to have both teams competing for titles but you are taking away Olympic sports and the majority of actual student/athletes

In my opinion, these are football schools that have been decent to good in basketball in recent years: Texas, Auburn, Alabama, Florida(titles in both), Michigan(titles in both), Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas A&M and Oregon. Of these schools that I listed, only Florida and Texas have a high number of varsity sports that they support, so it can be done at Ohio State as well.

I guess my question is, what direction should Ohio State take?
