In what has been a busy offseason for first-year head coach Jake Diebler that has seen Roddy Gayle (transferred to Michigan), Scotty Middleton (Seton Hall), Felix Okpara (Tennessee), Zed Key (Dayton) and Bowen Hardman (Akron) leave Ohio State while the Buckeyes have added former Kentucky big man Aaron Bradshaw and former Duke forward Sean Stewart through the transfer portal, OSU has also added incoming freshman Braylen Nash as a preferred walk-on.

The New Albany product helped lead the Eagles to a 20-5 record and an Ohio Capital Conference Ohio Division championship – their first league championship in eight years – this past season while averaging 17.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Nash was named OCC-Ohio Player of the Year, first-team all-district and was a Division I All-Ohio special mention for his efforts. The 6-4 guard also became the second player in New Albany boys’ basketball history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark.
Not only did he help lead the Eagles on the hardwood, but Nash also played football, where he was a wide receiver as a junior and switched to quarterback for his senior season.
Nash will be one of eight in-state players on the roster this upcoming season and will join fellow freshmen Juni Mobley and Colin White in Columbus.
With one available scholarship remaining, Ohio State will look to add more frontcourt depth behind Bradshaw, Stewart, Devin Royal and Austin Parks to complete its roster for the 2024-25 season.
