It seems that Ryan puts too much emphasis on “matchup games” and changes his approach for elite opponents. Needless to say it’s not working very well. Without looking up the numbers he’s approx 2-8 in matchup games, and 50-0 against every one else. He’s literally never lost to an opponent he treats normally. So it might behoove him to treat the big matchups just like any other game instead of making too much of the big matchups. Don’t go into it tight and having the kids think the it’s bigger than it is, just let it fly & play the game without over-hyping your opponent.
