Haven't seen any visiting Domers on this board leading up to the game, so I decided to take a look at Irish Envy this morning and . . . it did not disappoint. Key takeaways:
- Man, do they hate Ohio State!
- They have zero respect for the Buckeye team.
- Lots of "most expensive roster" talk.
- Very confident that they will win this game.
- Apparently, ND will win because of heart, culture, destiny, and toughness. Not a lot of talk about match-ups.
Here's a taste:
They have so much more talent on paper then us it's crazy, based on rosters alone they are going to absolutely destroy us...
But rosters alone do not win games, we have the better coaching staff, the better culture, the better team chemistry, the better drive and the better grit.
This is a very winnable game.
This won't be an easy out, but I really like our chances.
1. This team found out they can come from behind and win.
2. Have you seen a team with a bigger heart?
3. The players on this team believe in each other. They play not for themselves but for the rest of the team.
4. Each week different players step up to make a difference.
5. Any team that can suffer so many injuries and continue to win, knows they can.
6. I don't know exactly what a team of destiny is, but this team sure looks like one given all of the obstacles they have overcome.
If it comes down to a one score game in the fourth quarter, we have Freeman vs. Day and that is a mismatch. Day will inexplicably do some clown shit when the pressure is on, and Freeman will be ready for it.
Regarding that last one, didn't it come down to a one score game in the 4th in each of the last two OSU-ND games? In '22 OSU responded in the 4th quarter with a 14-play, 95-yard TD drive to put the game out of reach. Last year it was a 15-play, 65-yard TD drive with 1:26 left on the clock. But sure, mismatch.
