Permian (Odessa, Texas) athlete Peyton Powell has been on Ohio State's radar as a defensive back for quite some time now. But Powell won't be a Buckeye. Instead, he officially committed to Texas Tuesday.

Powell is a four-star athlete, ranked 19th nationally at his position. He's considered Texas' 42nd best overall prospect. The Longhorns beat out both Ohio State and TCU in Powell's recruiting process.
